Ephemeris Tool is a software for ephemeris calculations under Windows 95. Features:
- Creates free configurable Ephemeris Tables with more than 70 Ephemeris-items.
- Tables can be stored as *.xls or *.csv-files.
- Spreadsheet (slow but powerfull) or Simple-Grid - surface (very quick).hinsichtlich der FunktionalitΣt).
- Data-formats and number of decimals can be configured for each ephemeris-item separately.
- Switch easily between German or Englisch Surface.
- Calculations including perturbations (Planets).
- Numerical Integrations for Asteroids or Comets possible.
- VSOP87c-Add-On.
- User defined osculating orbital elements for Comets or Asteroids.
- Pre-calculated databases can be created for better perfomance (only with vsop87c Add-On).
Ephemeris Tool *.xls or *.cxv-files can be loaded into professional spreadsheets or databse-software.
Ephemeris Tool tries to use your Windows95 - settings for Numbers, Separators, Date and Time-Settings.
2. System Requierements
Ephemeris Tool requieres a Windows 95 - Computer. Installation and Deinstallation works as usual under Windows 95.
Ephemeris Tool is not designed for Windows NT or Windows 98. Maybe it works under this systems, too.
3. How to install the VSOP87-support
If you recieved Ephemeris Tool on disks or CD-ROM the additional dlls are installed automatically to your windows\system-folder. The you do NOT have to read the following informations.
If you recieved Ephemeris Tool from the www and want to use the VSOP87C planetary theorie or the ELP2000/82 lunar theorie, you must download the large versions of the vsop87c.dll resp. elp2000.dlls. The small versions are only 50 KB small.
You must install the large dlls into your System Folder (typically c:\windows\system).
- Close Ephemeris Tool, if it is runnig.
- Make a backup of your old elp2000 and vsop87c-dlls.
- Put the new, large elp2000 and vsop87c-dlls to your system folder.
After restarting Ephemeris Tool new menu commands in the menus 'Settings' and 'Ephemerides' will appear.
If you select the vsop87c-theory as calculation method, the pluto ephemerides will be calculated by the DE200-integration of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory too.
4. Known Bugs
1) When inserting a new sheet, fixing of rows and collumns may be removed.
2) If you selected a short-date - format in your Windows 95 - settings with to numbers only for the year (e. g.: yy-mm-dd), there may be problems with dates in the past or the future. If you have trouble with this: change your Windows 95 - short-date - format to yyyy-mm-dd (4 numbers for the year). Around 2000 the display will be correct.

Ephemeris Tool is copyrighted freeware. All rights are preserved. You do not have to pay any money, if you are using this software obtaining the following conditions.
Ephemeris Tool is software for astronomic calculations. If you want to use it for so called astro"logic" "calculations": this is not the intention of this software - please cancel the installation resp. delete Ephemeris Tool 4 from your hard disk if it is allready installed. You loose your license for using Ephemeris Tool 4, if you use it for "astrologic" "calculations" - it is illegal to use my software for those purposes.
Ephemeris Tool is a software designed by a computer- and astronomy-amateur for use by amateurs only. You may copy it and distribute it to your friends, if it is used for non-commercial purpose. You may not change any files, witch you distribute to other persons. Any commercial use is strongly forbidden. DON'T MAKE MONEY WITH THIS SOFTWARE! The copyright is remaining to Manfred Dings.
